22 December 2009

I can't find any better title for this post. So, i plan to stick with the date, only. And whew, time really flits. I remember cleaning up (clearing books and waste-papers away) my tables not long ago, and here I am, cleaning up my study table, again! Not to say that I'm complaining about going through that whole long process, instead I kinda enjoy it. It brings back memory.Lots of memory. It's a wonder though, that just by flipping through those pages, touching the covers and by reading the words written, it felt like going through a vortex of the past. Awesome...

But anyway, I also enjoyed throwing the books around, messing the floor up and cleaning it up again. Good times, good times...

Right, that was a few days ago. On the 22nd itself. Here's about the whole trip (if you don't wanna know, just scroll down, don't bother reading it if it's too long):

10:30. Left home for Sunway Pyramid. Bought tickets for Avatar 3D. Ate in B.B.Q Plaza. Went for the 3 hour show. Came out, bought Siew Pao and Portugese Egg Tarts from Mr. Siew Pao. Sent Auntie Joyce and her daughters back home. Appointment with Dr. Pritam Singh to check my eyes and get a new pair of monthly-contacts. Bought packed-up foods from Fatty Crab Restaurant. Went back home to eat. Enjoyed the century egg, chicken sate, fried chicken, fried rice, and a little bit of crab (Least enjoyed by me. Too spicy). Made Tang Yuen and ate till 11:30pm. That's about it.

Well, as certain people know, my family is one heck of a group that can really whack on food. No doubt about it. So, lately, I've come up with a new... New... THING (I'm sorry, I still lack vocabs). It's called the "Thums' Food Scale". Ratings are, A, B or C. The scale is based on the amount and enjoyable level. So I declare that yesterday's meals worth an A-. It wasn't a lot... But it was still great. Best part was daddy came back in-time to eat Tang Yuen with us. And i think that's what Dong Zhi is all about. Family members back together, having a meal together.

I enjoyed my day. But enjoyable days always come to an end. And now, I always seem to have problems thinking of ways to use up my day, at least with something to do. Rather than using the computer whole day. Ideas are very much appreciated guys!! Thanks!

Sunbathing (Malaysian style)

I looked up, sun rays blinded my eyes immediately, and everything went white. Once i looked straight forward again, it felt as though I'd stepped into a whole new green world! The skies were green. The sandy beach was green. My hands were green! Cool!

But the "fantasy" world vanished just after a few seconds and everything went back to normal. I thought, " hey, maybe I'll go for another time!" But of course that would be crazy. And of course i didn't do it again.

I adjusted my position on the chair and felt my skin burning a little. I took the sun-block lotion and squirted some lotions out. Rubbed it in my palms, then buttered it up my skin. Starting with my fingers, up my wrist, then all the way to my elbow, just above my armpits and... I realized i wasn't wearing any shirt! I rushed to get my shirt, even a towel would be very much welcomed, but there were none. "Damn!" i thought.

I turned around on my chair, and as i was about to dart back into my chalet, i found out that every man was topless, girls in bikinis, sunbathing on the beach too. So, obviously, i hadn't got used to the idea of walking half naked around public places, at that time.

Anyway, i got used to it in the end. At least i got to experience - the westerners commons - being topless at beach. I don't mind doing it again though. XD

So yeah, i spent most of my time reading Darren Shan, either on the chair or the hammock. My family members were also busy with their own stuff. We spent about 5 hours or more on that beach though. First time ever tried.
At the end of the day, i got much tanner, as usual. Whereas my sisters and dad got sun burnt, but not any tanner, like always... That's about it for that day. There shall be more to come. Enjoy reding!

Family Trip (Kayaking)

The waters were calm. Skies were blue. Horn-bills were flying above. Yade-yada...

We took the kayaks, splashed into the sea waters, stomping our feet without the least of care and went out strolling, breaking the calmness and tranquil water. It was our first time kayaking. (But, it turned out to be quite smooth for us. It wasn't that hard as we thought it would be. So yeah...)

And again, we took 3 kayaks, parents in one, sisters in the other, one for mua (proud of that). Cleared the ores on the shelf, dragged it all the way to the waters and simply flow. We were quite pumped-up at first. So, we paddled hard and fast. But of coarse, controlling the direction was the toughest of all (it's not really tough, just the toughest among the rest of the kayaking process). But, we soon got a hang of it.

We sailed (?) front and back on the same route. Then we took the decision to go around a small island nearby. We found baby jelly fishes, small fishes and large stones under sea. Oh yeah, I don't know whether it's proven or not, but my family and I thinks that sun glasses helps our eye-sight in waters. I mean we could see clearly through the sea waters, the rain - when in cars - much better than our bare eyes with sun glasses. X)

So, we got tired eventually at mid-way. We rested for awhile, looked at the clouds, naming objects by the shape formed by the clouds, and continued with our journey back to shore.

That's about it. We didn't spend much time on it. So, after that we had a game of beach volleyball with some foreigners. It was awesome...

There are more to come. Hope you guys are enjoying till now.

Family Trip (Food-A-Thon)

1)We went Ipoh to eat in the morning before proceeding to Langkawi, Kedah. We had some famous curry mee in town. Surprisingly, i lasted through the whole meal. I IMPROVED! Yeah!!

2)Once reached at the Lankawi jetty, mommy said to go for anything we were fond of. So, we saw Kenny Roger's Roasters and went in. The food was okay. And while eating, mommy also said that, eat anything we feel like, just go for it. And right in front of me stood Baskin Robins' stall. Haha. But, we didn't have any of it in the end.

3)We also ate dinners in Taj Resort's buffet in Rebak island. Costed like RM100 per head. But, it was good. The waiters there were polite. Most of them were foreigners. Philippines, Myanmar... There were also local chefs. Oh, and the coolest one, who is also the head chef of the kitchen, he worked in China and some cool places before too. So, he - according to him - knows how to speak nine different languages. Awesome! But of corse, there were words like, (monotone) ni hao ma, sik bao meh, wu ke reng and more... But still, he's a Indian. Not bad huh.

4)Ate in Thailand too. Went to those pasar malam stores, drank "cham yi mi shui". Was just okay...

5)Last but not least, PENANG! We ate char kui teow, muar chee, banana pie, seafood... Best! Oh, if anyone of you who's reading this, when you're in Penang, there's this awesome seafood restaurant in Batu Ferringhi (?) called "End of the World". My family claims that they have that name cause people eat there like there's no tomorrow. Make sense though. Haha.

Family trip part 1 (Long journey)

Some journey it was...

This time around, my - Thum - family has been accustomed to packing our own luggage. So, we didn't take much time on packing, our luggages were light and not too bulky. Thanks to the years of experience traveling world-wide. Hah.

Anyway, I'm just gonna focus on the journey, as I'll post the whole trip up, babs by babs.

First to start of with, tuning the radio, searching for Hitz FM was all that's needed to keep some of us busy in the car. Every time we reached a new state, the connection gets bad. In a way, it's a blessing, as we weren't too bored in the car.

No cards were brought. Well, books, yeah. MP3, yeah. Phones, duh...

So, other than tuning the radio, i read my - i borrowed from Jiaen actually, Thanks dude! - Darren Shan's third trilogy book ( AWESOME BOOK!!). I also listened to my MP3. I was surprised that it lasted through the whole trip though. Luck of the Thum's in me, i guess.

Not to waste any more time, here are the places visited chronologically:

Ipoh> Langkawi> Rebak Island> Thailand ( Hat Yai)> Penang> Kek Lok Si Temple> Home.

That was about it. The whole trip was more of a "food-a-thon" ( my family's term). So yeah, we focused on eating rather than places travelled. Still, we gained lots of knowledge and fun. X)

Till then. Kindly wait for more babs to come. Enjoy!

Camerons Camp 2009

Hialooooo people!

Just came back from a camp with the Taman Seas in Camerons. It was from the 29th of November till 7th of December? (Lost count of the date most of the time there.)

Anyway, we had loads of fun there. I won't upload pictures here. It'll be in my facebook. Alrighty? Right, we trained, jungle trekked, walked under rain, ate pisang goreng, slept, ate barbecue and lots more. Everything was total fun and excitement. And it was hard to get that kind of chance. Where everyone laughs at everything, been laughed at anything and laugh altogether just for fun. It felt easy being with them. All those noises and gases. Just un-forgettable. XD

Anyway, i hope there would be more camps for me to join with them. Thanks guys!!

AISM triathlon

Whew... It was one hack of a day. Tiring is the the main theme.

AISM triathlon stands for Australian International School Malaysia triathlon. I took part in it yesterday (22 November 2009).

Anyway, i woke up at about 6:15. Got my teeth brushed and body washed immediately. (As for the backpack, I've got it all ready the night before.) I felt the grogginess in my body as I was taking my bath. Maybe because it was my first time taking part in a triathlon competition.

A brief explanation about TRIATHLON. An event that consist of three kinds of sports. Which are, swimming, cycling, jogging chronologically. So, as for my category. 300m of swimming, 8km of cycling and 3km of jogging.

Setting stuff at the transition area was fun. (The transition area is where we change gears for the next course that we go in to.) By the way, I noticed that my bike was the only non-stand bike. Everyone had thin bikes with thin tyres, hanging up on the rack. At least mine was outstanding. XD Oh, and again, thanks Aileen for the helmet.

I sucked at swimming. I was last when i got out of the swimming pool. Honestly, i even had difficulties coming out of the pool. Uncle said that my face went white. Cool...
Then, came cycling. 8 laps. 8 km. I cycled, and cycled. And cycled. 8km was really long. I often looked at the houses nearby. Nice scenery. AND, i think i cheated blindly. We were cycling in circles. So, we were encouraged to count the laps we have done. But, being me, i forgotten. So, as i finished my 6th lap, the official told me that i have one last lap to go. And i didn't know how much laps I've done. So, i just followed her instructions. I finished the cycling course with 7 laps. Hehe.
The jog was dreadful. Cramps attacked throughout my body. I technically hopped along the road.

In the end, i finished at 11th place. Aileen was right behind me. (Thanks to the blind cheat.) So, conclusion is, i had fun. Australians are really polite. I suck at swimming. I loved the company. XD

That's about it.

The morning blue

1)Drinking honey lemon first thing in the morning is the one thing you would never wish for. Those slimy liquid rushing through your sick throat - which is oh so dry due to the dry air in your room - clinging to some of your flesh inside before draining down your stomach. YEOOUCH!!! And once you tighten your jaws back up, the bristle feeling made between the contact of the upper and lower teeth, just makes you go OOOWWWHHH!!!!! That eerie feeling immediately rushes up your body. Wow!

2)Pass few days were among the sad days for some people out there. Firstly, i send my condolences to some certain people out there. I would not like to touch about their names. Well, as what parents and teachers always tell us, things are bound to happen. Break-ups, failures, deaths. And a lot more. So, what's happened has happened. What's done is done. Just toughen yourselves up. Look at the bright side of things and hope for the best. Stay happy always! SMILE X). ( I'm not good at expressing words. Sorry)

Wowzee...

We had an inter-class drama competition yesterday. Teams were given the task to act with the theme of "The Phantom of Opera". My class was supposedly taking part in it. But, due to actors, actresses not being free on the week, so we pulled out.

The competition went well, i guess...? But sadly, the prefects who were not invloved in the drama had to attend a briefing, something about the duties at form 3. So, some were a little upset about it, at least a yes for me. Pn. Hardeep said that she will show the plays to us who didn't attend the competition. Thanks a lot Pn . Hardeep!

Anyway, it was a busy day for all actors. One thing clear is, they were mad. Mad people. Mad about the whole competition. Doing mad things. Planning mad stuff. Having mad ideas. Dressing up madly. And a lot more mad stuff.

Come to think of it, i envy them all. Making a movie requires loads of work. Everyday is hectic. Busy preparing the set-ups, the props, the costumes and a lot more. I never expected that situation appearing in our school. I mean, 14 years old, doing some really mad stuff, for a competition at school level. They were all far beyond expected. They could actually bring the standards up to the adults level. I mean, WOW!

So, to all who acted and was involved with the competition, job well done! Congrats!

Day off.

Toke a day off from school. Reason because i have these back problems. The actual plan was to go for a medical-check and see if there's anything wrong with it. But instead, i went for reflexology. But before that, a short journey in Subang.

Morning -
Went to kacao orang. Watched Naruto and Beethoven's Virus till 11.

Afternoon -
1) Went to Damansara to pick up my sister's dress, while my mom bought a new dress. Boring says it all.

2)Went to eat in some shop which sells "Lam Mee". It was OKAY... It was supposed to taste really good, according to my mummy. But, I felt that it was just OKAY...

3) Went to Sunway Pyramid. First to get tickets for the "This is It" show at 9:30p.m. Which is around 2 hours from now. Wopee! Secondly, my sister bought a pair of heels and i bought a pair of shoes. Don't want to wear the same converse shoe every time. So, for a change. XD

4) Went to massage. China woman. China assent. Cool... It went alright. Though she sort of lectured me for having such aches at this age. "Jia huo, zhen shi de" or "Jia huo" or "Zhen me zhe yang de, xiao jia huo." XD

5) Went to cut my hair. Not much comment on it. Oh, just that i have to wait till 9 only can i take my bath. So, my whole body itches!

That's for now.

p.s I missed out the girls' cookings. Damn.

:)

To you (if you're even reading this),

On behalf of the prefectorial board, I would like to say a few words. Personal view. Well, I respect your decision, though hoping that you would change your mind. Honestly, we were kind of shocked to find out that you decided to do such. But, if that's what you ought to do, then we won't interfere your decision.

Anyway, I apologize for anything that I've ( including the rest) done wrong towards you. I also wish that you would be much happier than before, if that's why you made that decision. So anyway, have fun!

p.s Hope I didn't offend you on any points.

EXAMIA

Today, is the day, where we learn about this word called EXAMIA! The spelling is, of course, E-X-A-M-I-A ( it has to be in capital letters in order to get the feel of it, i guess...).

It all came about when one day, this boy named, Cowy-Mc.Don't-Do-It was actually reading a book on a beautiful Monday. Cowy (short) had never touched or seen a book before. But today, he's finally touched and seen one, even more READ them... So, the villagers were shocked and amazed and touched and bizarred and shocked and amazed and touched and bizarred again, at this unnatural phenomenon.

They were all told - rather passed down through generations actually - that if one day a boy who has a name with the starting of Cow - which symbolises laziness - who never seen or touched a book and someday just suddenly reads one, that will be the day where EXAMIA has touched down onto our world.

And so they feared. What does that mean? Is it a kind of sickness? A nation? A toy? Or worse, aliens?! Everyone, just everyone, from the grandparents, to the parents, to the workers, to the smokers, to the snorkelers, to the snoring peoples, to the kids, the babies, were running cats and dogs. Without even having a clue of why they are even doing it.

Yes, EXAMIA is a sickness. It causes humans to be stressed up or act stressed up. Stress is dangerous, for everyones' information. EXAMIA usually comes with exams as a package. Whenever there's exam, there is EXAMIA! Get it?

Symptoms - 1)headaches
2)usage of spectacles more often rather than contact lenses
3)easily being angry at your girl or boy friend
4)saying unlogical stuff more frequently
5)numerous times of forgeting to flush the toilet
6)not knowing a book is in hand occasionally
7)pimples blooming brightly
8)socks higher than usual
9)pants higher than usual
10)taking in more sugar to destress

P.S That story had happened since decades ago. So that means.... EXAMIA has long since touched down on earth! And that means YOU might be one of THEM to have been affected by EXAMIA.

Way to cure?
Answer: Simply wait for it to cure!

Silent or voice?

Well, sometimes i just wonder whether which way is best when it comes to facing our parent's lectures. Should we say what we want to say? Or should we just stay still like a plank of wood?

Another is, is it normal for our parents to pay more attention to our other siblings when he or she is at the age of almost 18 or 19? I mean like, last time when you talk to your parents, they'll listen and if your other sibling just interupts with another topic, they'll ask he or her to wait. But when at that age, things just get different and you feel being left out at times?

Anyway, when that kind of things ever happen, we have to be strong. This is for anyone who's reading this post now. I mean, maybe it might not happen to you, but if it really do, be strong. Be positive. The support you need will be your own body and your positively thinkings always.

For now, just enjoy life to the max while moving towards your goals. =)

~Another dinner with the THUM family~

Well, had another dinner in some Chinese restaurant in IOI mall. The food was... OKAY.... The service was.... OKAY.... The karaoke machine was... OKAY.

Want the truth? Well, it actually sucked. The food was either tasteless or salt less. The crab meat was mashy. Everything was crap. Then the service there sucked more than the word "suck". Just don't know how to describe about it. They never once use the word "sorry" or "may i". I mean, it's basic serving skill. Don't know that? Well, too bad... They really have to do something about that. Or else it's... Self-destructing. As for the juke box, they didn't really have much up-to-date songs. It was all the old songs. But at least we had fun listening to our uncles' singing. That was the only part that we had fun though... Of course there was the photo session. It was fun too. Haha. Here are some photos.

Not again Teddy...

Teddy has been eating grass again today. And of course, he vomited. Again. Surely that would get you up to your toes whn you see your dog vomiting, right? So, i decided to google up whether or not it's normal for dogs to eat grass. And here's what i got out of it.

Q:Dogs eat grass??

A: Dogs commonly eat grass, and there are several explanations that have been offered for this behavior. One, wild canids (e.g., wolves and fox) eat all of an animal when they catch it. Since they eat many herbivores (plant-eating animals), they end up eating a lot of grasses and plants that were in the intestines of these animals. In addition, they have been known to eat certain berries and other plant material. Dogs then, may eat grass because, in reality, it is a normal part of their diet.

Many times, dogs will vomit after eating grass. Did they eat grass to make them vomit? Or did they vomit because they ate grass? It is a mystery, but it seems that some dogs may eat vegetation when they have an upset stomach.

The third reason - they just like it. Some dogs have certain species of grass or plant material that they will search out and eat. We know a beagle who can pick raspberries faster than his owner.

In any case, grass eating is basically a normal behavior, and is not of concern unless your dog does it excessively.

So, yeah... Seems like i don't have to worry much about it then. You guys out there who also has a K9 eating grasses, it's absalutely, perfectly normal. =)

~It just gets deeper~

"You okay dude?"
"Oh yeah... It's nothing. No worries." Terry just smiles away.

I thought he would be hurt quite badly. Hmm... Oh well, he's fine. He's real cool. No matter what gets in his way, no matter sadness or stresses, he doesnt complaint too much. He'll eventually be fine without you even comforting him much, just give him a minute or 5. He'll be fine...
Cool huh... Since primary, i've already started envying him. Hah

(Secondary school...)

"Man... Why does it seem that she have those kind of feelings for me, but whenever we're in class, i just feel that it's a whole different thing. She's always with that guy, she does things with that guy always, but not with me. Why?! It's been days... Never ever have i suffered this long. You think i should give up?"

It didn't take long before Terry replied me. He knew just what to say...

"Oh, that's just dumb. Never give up. Who are we? We never give up this easily. Don't think too much. She still calls you at night doesn't she?"
"I presume so...But what they two are doing in school, they're having much more fun! Not like just talking on the phone..."
"Hey, how long do you spend your time on the phone with her? Appreciate man. By the way, though you say so, a lot of people still says you two are real close together."
"But, there are also a lot people saying they two are better. Hmm..."

Though sometimes our conversation ends like this. Without much conclusions. I just feel great in the end. Not that sad as before. He's really one of a kind.

We're in secondary now. Things change alot. Feelings change. Emotions change. We both face problems now together. Indeed he's my one of a kind best friends, and i hope it's gonna be a life-term friendship.

So, as i was saying, now, we face different kind of problems, MUCH different compared to primary school problems. And it's always the case where he could help me out whenever i have a problem or so. I'll always be fine after when he gives me a counsil or some sort...

As for him, i just don't know what to do everytime. His problems are always much more complicated than mine, a level higher i would say. And whatever i 've tried, it just doesnt seem to be helping at all. Man... Everytime i think about that, it just makes me think i'm useless. And in the end, what have i helped? Nothing but just leave him alone, thinking on his own. *Sigh...*

I just hope, someday, this will all just be one of the topics we'll be laughing at. You know, like a bunch of good friends, sitting on the grass, looking at the water flow by, and just laughing at it, real loud.

Get the feel of it?? XD

P.S If i offended anyone of you, i'm sorry, but i didnt intend to.
P.P.S Hope everything turns out well

Decisions in life

Decisions are the most head-aching, mind-torturing, body-soaring kind of thing in life. They can't be avoided no matter what you do. But, there's always time to make that decision. Some decisions are urgent, some are not. Some are important, some are not. I thought that making a decision would be an easy task, that was at the young days of mine. Actually, I don't really get to make any decisions during the young days, it's normally our parents who does it. But for this kind of age now, that trend just had to go away. Well, it's sure that i miss it at times, but most of the times, i would be happy for what i chose, though sometimes it turns out quite badly. That's just part of life.

So, worst decisions I've made so far is the activities i join in school. I just seem to be more and more involved in different activities. Some times, i really wished that I haven't made those decisions. But, what's passed is passed. Just have to bear with it till the end.

Well, when making decisions, there are just bloody many aspects that we'll have to consider. Different kind of decisions require different things to think about. At times, we might have to think for other people's good 1st before ourselves. But, there too are cases where we have to think for ourselves 1st.

According to my observation, most people would first think for themselves 1st. So far, there are only a hand-full of them who thinks for other peoples good, neglecting about their own selves. It's always important that we should be happy making any decisions. Sometimes i just don't get why there are people that would be too kind-hearted that they don't even matter if they would not enjoy anything so long the other person's happy. I find that really weird though. It's like not having your own life anymore. Hmm....

So anyway, don't rush into making a decision. Enjoy doing everything you decided and never regret it.

P.s if i've offended anyone of you, sorry but i didn't mean it.

Stresses

~Homework
~Pn Lim's retirement
~Exam results
~Friends
~Teacher who went up to morning classes to teach
~Girls
~Lost Kira-kira
~Kira-kira itself
~Sports
~Dream
~Goals
~Tomorrow

P.S If any of you are under pressure of doing something, you'll eventually end up in a bad mood, having a bad sleep and your thinking might also have some difference in it. These are common. But, after finishing or your work that you stressed to finish, remember to apologize or something to those who you treated badly during the stress period. It's also common that people don't do that.

And if you don't, you might... Lose a friend... Your friends are in your hands... XD

Boridays...

Yeah... A new word... Boridays... It means boring holidays... XP

Now i'm starting to get really bored of school holidays. I just can't find out why i could enjoy it so much during those young days... Apart from the Game boy - that we think that it's THAT fun at those days, but really sucks as you come to think about it now... I just can't remember how i spent my holidays those days. I tried my very best recalling those days, but nothing just lightens up that bulb though... Damn.

So, other than smsing, going for exercises - as entertainment - it's only me and that piles of books to study these days. Never really enjoy holidays nowadays man. Even if there was a gathering or so... I still can't feel that same fun feeling as i had back then. I just can't figure out why... Any idea guys (or girls)?

Do please give some ideas on doing anything, ANYTHING, no matter it's a lame thing or so, so that i won't bore myself to death, and i mean it...

~Slopes~

Is it just me or is a lot of thing just happening during this week? There are friendship problems around any corner i see. Relationship problems, friendship problems... Weird thing is, it all happens all in a week.

Well guys, or girls, it's not unusual to get in a quarrel or a fight or maybe a miss understanding between just anyone. The cause of it is simple, it's made by either one of you or the both of you. What I'm trying to say here is, whenever there's something not going right, don't ever turn your back on it and just walk away and leave it just the way you left it.

Why not have thoughts on trying to go back to the normal good-old-days when nothing would split anyone of you and the other person up?

Is it that tough for us to talk it out with the person you're having problems with? Can't a simple chat with all the thoughts in your mind be brought out and just let the other person know what you feel, what's the matter, what you're thinking about the matter...?

Guys, our life won't be as perfect and as smooth as you think it would be, we can't change that fact. Surely there will be ups and downs that you will face. But, whether or not you can handle it? That's the one thing we can change. You'll never know, when you have cleared up the wall between you and the other person, you might find that the relationship between you guys is much better than before. And that's the time when you will say ,"Damn, I'm sorry man. I was a fool, my fault, let's just be friends like last time from now on. Okay?" And the other person will be fighting with you again - in a fun way - saying that he/she's the one that's wrong.

So yeah, come on guys, it's always never late to try solving the problems between that someone. But it'll be late if don't try doing it.

Stay happy guys! Hope those of you - who thinks you are in that kind of situation - solves the problem and be back to normal. XD

One more,
DO not forget that friendship is everything in our life. No friends, no life...
